How can you watch downloaded films on your tv?

There are a number of ways to watch downloaded movies on your TV. All these methods are dependent on the method by which you downloaded them and the equipment you have available.

For example, if you downloaded the movie using iTunes, then your methods by which to see the movie are pretty limited, but entirely doable. If you downloaded them in a fashion that gave it to you in MPEG format, there are more options.

Software:

If you have an iTunes video, iTunes does not (yet) let you burn it to DVD. You must watch it using iTunes or on a iPod. If you wish to watch it on iTunes then skip to the hardware section. All Apple iPods and iPhones are capable of letting you see the videos on a TV, you just have to buy a cable for it. So you can download the video to you iphone and plug you iphone into your TV.

Other video players work similarly. If you have a video player form another company, you can download the MPEG to that player and hook it up to your TV.

Finally, if you have software like nero, you can transform your MPEG or AVI video that you downloaded into a format that is readable by DVD players and burn a DVD on your computer. Then to see your video you can just insert the DVD into your player to watch it.

HARDWARE:

If your idea is that you want to hook up your TV to your computer, this is of course possible also. but you will need a video card that has a TV out connector. This TV out connector may have a CoAxial connector, S-Video connector or the newer DVI connector. Some cards may still have RCA connectors on it, but I have not seen that in a while.

Then, you need to be sure your TV has a similar connector for the video signal. Some TVs even have a VGA input, so you can just buy a plain old normal video card for it. Most TVs have an S-video connector, only newer TVs have a DVI connector.

Once you have set up your video card (or second video card) to be able to display to both your normal monitor and your TV. Then you can simply drag the player window over to the TV to watch the video. You can now use iTunes, powerDVD, nero or anything to watch your video with, on your TV.

I hope this has been helpful, at least as a start. It took me a while to get it set up so that it works nicely. I use SageTV as the player, which has a nice remote control (it also, makes a TiVo out of your computer if you have a tuner card).

While I have your attention: Pay for your movies.I don't work at any of the broadcast companies or movie houses, but when you illegally download movies, my costs for buying legally downloaded ones go up. Movies are cheap enough to just buy. Netflix and blockbuster are cheap enough to see as many movies as you want whenever you want. The only reason to download movies illegally these days is because you are an idiot. I hope you are not an idiot.
