This is a problem that many peoplestruggle with. If the dog is aggressive towards the mail carrier or anyone else for that matter you should probably keep him/her away from them because if the dog was to bite someone it could be humanly euthanized. If your dog is a male that has not been neutered getting him neutered could possibly help calm his aggression. To help your dog learn that the mail carrier is OK you should give your dog lots of praise when he comes around. Also give him treats. This associated the mail carrier with good things and the dog will soon look forward to the mail carrier. Another good way to help with this is to invite a friend over that your dog does not know very well. Every time your dog looks at the person you should treat him this also associates the person with good things.
