Cisplatin is an anti-cancer drug consisting my a a platinum atom, two chlorine atoms and two amine groups. The two chlorine groups are substituted for water molecules in the body. The drug works by forming co-ordinate bonds with guanine bases in DNA, this prevents the process of DNA replication and hence it stops malignant tumours frow growing and spreading.
Platinol, also known as Cisplatin is a medication for cancer patients. Platinol interferes with the growth of cancer cells and slows how fast they spread in the body.
"The Platinol package insert says the drug is most commonly used to treat cancer in the bladder, ovaries and testicles." "The Platinol package insert may not have all the uses, but Platinol, also known as Cisplatin, has been used to treat sarcomas, carcinomas and even lymphomas. "
In terms of the Electromagnetic spectrum, Gamma radiation and X-rays are usually used to treat cancer patients in a process called Radiotherapy, as these are the highest energy forms of the EM spectrum. However, other forms of radiation such as high-energy neutrons are being used, which do not belong to the EM spectrum.
There are several drugs used to treat mesothelioma. There are various chemotherapy drugs, such as Cisplatin, Navelbine, and Alitma.
cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan), doxorubicin (Adriamycin), and vincristine (Oncovin), or etoposide and cisplatin.
Laser have been used to treat BPH. They are not generally used to treat cancer.
If someone you know has cancer, you need to treat them with respect.
It is the combination of platinum-based (cisplatin, carboplatin) chemotherapy AND docetaxel, paclitaxel, vinorelbine, gemcitabine or irinotecan ... based chemotherapy. ...platinum-doublet chemotherapy (Carboplatin AUC 6+Paclitaxel 200mg/m2 day1 Q3w, Cisplatin 80mg/m2 day1+Irinotecan 60mg/m2 day1,8,15 Q4W, Cisplatin 80mg/m2 day1+Vinorelbine 25mg/m2 day1,8 Q3W, Cisplatin 80mg/m2 + Docetaxel 60mg/m2 day1 Q3W, or Cisplatin 80mg/m2 day1+Gemcitabine 1,000mg/m2 day1, 8 Q3W) up to 6 cycles ...
Metals such as platinum (in cisplatin) and gold (in auranofin) are used in certain chemotherapy drugs to target and destroy cancer cells. These metals are incorporated into the drugs to enhance their effectiveness against cancer.
It can treat pain, and it can to some extent treat nausea(from the medicines). But it won't to much for the actual cancer.
Cisplatin is manufactured by Bristol-Myers Squibb. It is a chemotherapy drug used in cancers of the bladder, kidney, and testicles.
Cisplatin (PtCl2NH3) has a molecular weight of 300.01 g/mol. The molar mass of platinum is 195.08 g/mol. To find the percentage of platinum in cisplatin, divide the molar mass of platinum by the molar mass of cisplatin and multiply by 100. So, (195.08 g/mol / 300.01 g/mol) * 100 ≈ 65%. Therefore, cisplatin contains about 65% platinum.
