How clean are guinea pigs?
They are very clean. But if you are going to have one you will still need to clean there cage. But the guinea pig will clean themselves I believe.
I already know that guinea pigs are the cleanest rodent. After the guinea pig is the rat.
never clean your guinea pigs mouth
guinea pigs are fairly clean animals. u only need to give your guinea pigs a bath every 1 month. u can also use squeaky clean spray on guinea pigs.
Well you should clean a cage with two Guinea pigs every 2-3 days. I have a guinea pig she lives in her own cage and I even have to clean her cage every 3-4 days. If you have a big enough cage which is 7.5 feet for 2 guinea pigs then you only have to clean it about once a week.
It depends how many guinea pigs you have. If you have 1 or 2 then I would recommend that you clean the hutch once a week. If you have more than three guinea pigs then you will have to clean it out pretty often!
Yes. Unlike most animals who don't mind being dirty, guinea pigs like to be clean and groomed.
They lick them.
No,some male guinea pigs actually help clean and care for babies
you dont clean them at all smarty
Guinea pigs clean themselves with a milky white substance that is produced in the corner of their eyes. They rub this substance on their face with their front paws. They clean the rest of their body by licking or nibbling on the fur. They then clean their nails with their front teeth.
you should clean your guinea pigs cage every 2-3 days just to make sure they don't get sick, and it doesn't smell. sak :)
this isn't random and yes most guinea pigs actually do this...they do it as a sign of affection towards each other and to clean any watery build up on the eyes
No, guinea pigs don't carry diseases. They are quite disease-free when they're kept in a clean environment.

Yes! My guinea pigs love to eat carrot tops. Just make sure that it is clean before you give it to them and they will love it!
Any guinea pig shampoo should be fine for your guinea pig but you might want to ask your vet, an employee at a pet store, or friends with guinea pigs.

you shouldnt, guinea pigs will groom themselves and this includes the ears, you should bathe your guinea pig once a month.
I can't say it is GOOD, but it is OK. If your piggy poops alot, don't worry! Because it just naturally happens at some point. You can't force a guinea pig to hold in it's poop, right? So clean your guinea pigs cage weekly. But spot clean the part that your guinea pigs poops/pees in daily. Because you might be surprised how messy it can get in just 12 hours! So, clean your guinea pig's… Read More
Well, not really. If you clean there cage/hutch maybe once a week and bath them then there not smelly. Remember that you have to clean there cage, guinea pigs hate to run around in there poo or dirty hay. I belive you've made a spelling mistake with 'Guinie pigs' , it should be 'Guinea pigs'. Sorry if this has caused any trouble. Hope this helped:)
I have given them to my guinea pig. She loves them! I would just make sure they're clean before offering them to your guinea pig.
If you keep their cage clean, they keep themselves clean. Still, you should wash your hands after handling them.
They can smell bad , but not if you properly clean its cage once a week.
Yes of course they do because they are very clean animals
Guinea pigs are not related to pigs. Guinea pigs are called guinea pigs because of their squealing noise they make.
All guinea pigs have their own, individual personality. It could be because it is more comfortable on the house, or they just like the view. Also, guinea pigs like to be clean, so if the ground below is filthy, they wouldn't want to lie down on that would they?
The bad things about guinea pigs is... 1.sheds in the early and late winter 2.if you open your fridge. It will squeak loudly. 3.never leave your guinea pigs cage open because it will eat all of your food. 4.it will get pissed off if you pet on top of it's head. 5.clean your guinea pigs cage or else it will get a sickness and die
A guinea pig does not bite it owns hands. Like other animals it cleans itself. You can see this in healthy guinea pigs. Young guinea pigs, who has been taken from their mother too soon, does not always learn how to clean themselves. Overweight guinea pigs can have a problem doing it, as well as those with very long nails. Some guinea pigs also keep their nails short white cleansing, by biting their nails.
Guinea pigs can get mites for several reasons, they may pick it up from another animal or they may just be living in an environment that needs to be clean. If your guinea pig has mites take it to a vet or call one IMMEDIATELY.
The only reason a Guinea Pig would smell bad is that its owner is not doing their job and keeping it in hygienic conditions. Guinea Pigs are very clean animals and will only smell if allowed to get dirty, kept in poor conditions or is unable to clean itself for some reason. If you are keeping it clean, then something is wrong and you need to take him/her to visit a vet.
Questions about guinea pigs include: Can all guinea pigs breed? Do all guinea pigs get along with other guinea pigs? What is their habitat?
no all you need to do is make sure you kep his or hers cage clean
Well to me, i think guinea pigs aren't the best beginner pets. I think you should go with fish. Guinea pigs are a lot of work. You have to clean their water supply, food supply and even their poo. You can't just leave a guinea pig alone, like fish. Fish are much easier, just feed them 2-3 times a day and clean their tank every 2-3 weeks. I hope this helped! =)
I have been looking for that same answer! But All I found is no. But there are shampoos and grooming placeing to keep the guinea pigs clean. I am planning on going to a pet store and seeing if I can find more out. If I do I will get back to you.
guinea pigs ears should not be crusty....it might be ear wax? Or it could be ear mites - when my guinea pigs had crust inside their ears and i took them to the vet for other reasons- the vet said it was ear mites- Use a cotton swab moist with warm water to clean them out
yes you can give a guinea pig a bath with just water but they will not be as clean as when you give them a bath with shampoo and yes they do make special shampoo for guinea pigs don't use normal soap on guinea pigs you can find this special soap at petsmart in the guinea pig area
yes but you do need to bath them every 3 weeks with special guinea pig shampoo which you can buy from a pet shop
Clean out your guinea pig's waste daily, also you may want to spray disifectant inside the cage.
when guinea pigs are older and more mature there balls get bigger. or if they are actually just swollen it could be an irritation i would start by cleaning out my cage and putting new clean materials down
Yes, the cage should be kept clean and "worm free."
guinea pigs like to get out and play especially with each other. if your goiong to let your pigs run around together i would recommend a plastic childrens pool, because then you know were they are and its EASY to clean! ;o) yes i think they do i let me guinea pig run around the house it is so funny
