FIRST war in US history (world history?) that aluminum tanks (M551 Sheridan); aluminum boats (PCF-Patrol Craft Fast/known as the Swift Boat); aluminum rifles (M16 Assault Rifles) replaced standard WOOD & STEEL for those particular war machines.
The Vietnam War was one of the worst in American history. Combat in the jungle was difficult, and it was hard to know who exactly was the enemy, since Vietnam had two different sides of the war as well.
