Not chelation, but chelate effect can be explained predominantly with entropy factor. Chelate effect describes about enhanced affinity of chelating ligands for a metal ion in comparison to the affinity of a collection of similar non chelating (monodentate) ligands for the same metal.

So, when we compare the 2 cases we observe that the entropy factor favours the chelate formation because the reactants were lesser (because of polydenticity).
