Without physically examining it, it is hard to say, but there are a few things you can try: 1. Though it is not recommended try taking the battery pack out of the controller and using the cable, it should be able to power the controller. If this works then replace your battery pack. 2. Try plugging a different supported USB device that you know works such as a different play and charge cable or a rock band microphone into the USB port. If this doesn't work then you have an internal problem with your Xbox 360 and you really can't do anything about it. 3. If these fail then your actual cable is probably irreparably damaged and you have no choice but to replace it.

Ok, well I had this same prob. The way for me to fix it was take out the batter leave it out for 30 seconds and put it back in the charge should work! But sometimes you have to do it for every charge!
