There is going to be a reboot in 2012 called "The Amazing Spider-Man". The planned fourth movie with Tobey Maguire returning was scrapped because Sam Raimi decided not to direct it due to conflicts at the studio. Therefore, Maguire decided not to be Spidey anymore as a result as he would only do another one if Raimi stayed as the director. Losing the lead star made the producers decide to restart the series with all characters recasted.
