He died so we could be forgiven of our sins, so technically he did die for us.

We now have salvation because of this sacrifice.

That's why they say Jesus paid for us. But, you also have to remember that He did it willingly; He knew He would suffer but He suffered for us, because He loves us.

Hope that helps :)

Why is Jerusalem holy to Christianity?

Why? Because Jesus the Christ spent much time in and around Jerusalem. But the biggest reason is that is where jesus Christ went to the cross, suffered and died for me and other Christians. He paid for our sin on the cross outside the walls of Jerusalem, was buried in a tomb there and was resurrected there.

Why do you display Jesus on the cross if he has already risen from the dead?

Many, many, Christians do not display Jesus on the cross because He has paid the price for sin and is alive and well in heaven. Many churches have an empty cross on the wall usually behind the preachers pulpit. Jesus Christ has died, been resurrected and is working on the Chrtistians behalf. There is no need for Him to be on the cross.

Is the cross worshiped like jesusis it true adolphe-napoleon said that the cross was worshiped similar if not equal to christ himself .awake April 2006 jw?

The cross is a symbol of Jesus, just like the flag is a symbol of a country. Because nobody knows what Jesus looked like, when we look at the cross we remember how Jesus hung on the cross, paid for our sins, died, then rose again. The cross itself has no special meaning aside from what Jesus gave to it.

What does the Christianity cross mean?

It was the Roman's style worst way of execution. When Pontius Pilate said he saw nothing wrong with Jesus, he just wanted to keep his seat, so he threw them over to the Romans. Jesus tells us to Carry Our Cross Daily. That is our burdens, but the cross is actually evened out exactly. Even when Christ was carrying His cross, they called on a Samaritan to help Him. Jesus still helps us carry our cross today.

How are you justified by faith?

Because Jesus died on the cross for us, we don't have to pay the price of our sins - death. Instead, we simply have to believe in him and that he truly loves us and died for us, or have faith, and we will be saved. Therefore, our sin is justified by faith in Jesus Christ. It is paid for by his death. Hope this helps!
