False negatives are usually caused by testing too early. Either you are testing too soon before your period is due, or you had an irratic cycle and ovulated late and it's just too early to pick up the pregnancy hormone. Some women online have taken multiple tests and gotten negatives, then later got a positive.. it was just too early.

No there is never a false positive
It is positive, but most modern tests are relatively accurate. Ensure the test is conducted properly, by following the directions carefully. If you want to make sure, wait a week and try again. If you are pregnant, you likely should consult your doctor.

False negatives do happen but they usually occur very early in the pregnancy. This is especially so if the test was a low quality brand or not designed to be used before a due period. It can also happen if conception happened much later than you expected.

There are several things that can contribute to a negative pregnancy test even if you are pregnant. Some medications can give you a false negative, the timing of the test can affect the results. If you did not follow directions properly; if you let the test sit for too long the results may read negative after a while. It is important to read the results within the amount of time given on the instructions of that particular pregnancy test you bought. If you did not perform the test properly (example: you drank a lot of fluids before taking the test, which can dilute your urine). Etc.

yes you can get a false negative on a pregnancy test. there are hundreds of people online that have had them and still been pregnant. i myself think it is happening to me. one reason for this is the hook effect which is where antibodies attach to the hcg masking it from the preg test
