It is common for those with an Asperger's Syndrome diagnosis to also carry an ADHD diagnosis. There is speculation that the two syndromes may be related because of their presentation, and often, co-diagnosis. Both syndromes share a core deficit: executive dysfunction.

Autism is as common today as it always has been - currently figures put autism diangosis in children at 1 in 50, this doesn't mean an increase in autism but an increase in awareness of autism and better diangosis so more autistic people are now getting diagnosed.

Autism is not very rare, although it's as common as neurotypical neurology. Currently the CDC put autism diagnosis at 1 in 68 people, however we don't know for sure if this is accurate as there are many people who go diagnosed - minorities and females are often greatly under-diagnosed.

We don't know how common Autism is because we don't know how many Autistic people there are - it is under-diagnosed in many groups, and many Autistic adults do not have a diagnosis. Current rates of Autism diagnosis in children is 1 in 68 children in the US. Autism diagnosis was rare and is now more common, this does not mean that autism is on the increase at all, just diagnosis.

The CDC put Autism diagnosis at 1 in 68. This just related to diagnosis in children, it doesn't take into consideration Autism in adults or those who are not diagnosed.

How do you know if it is aspergers or schizophrinia?

The usually symptom of schizophrenia is sensing (any of the five snese) of something that doesnt exist or is present. Other syptoms can vary as there are different forms of schizophrenia but common signs are paranoia, confusion and irritation. Also, avoiding people is common with the paranoid schizophrenic. Aspergers does not have this. Instead AS is noted for the individual to be socially awkward (doenst know what to do) and having strong interests with specific things. AS is a high functioning austism and the individual does not need medication (unless they have severe ADHD, depression or anxiety) where as schizophrenics usually need to take medication to help keep their senses "in order".
