it is common depending on how many people smoke in the world. The less people that smoke the less common it is. The more people smoke the more common it is. Also if there is less inhalation of asbestos, or less asbestos in the world, the less common lung cancer is.
It is so common because the lung are internal. It is sensitive because of that, for instence your heart and brain are very very sensitive because they aren't"rough" like youre skin. When things are inhaled they go trough you're lungs and into the blood stream because your body needs oxegyn to function. I'm about 95% right. If you chose to not believe me so be it but cancer has no cure and we have no lead to what cases different types of cancer. So don't smoke and do anything that can cause cancer. I hope one day be find a cure. Treatments aren't even 100% correct.

The most common type of cancer worldwide is non-melanoma skin cancer, which includes basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. These cancers are highly prevalent but are generally less aggressive and have a lower mortality rate compared to other types of cancer. However, when considering all cancer types, excluding non-melanoma skin cancer, the most common cancer varies depending on factors such as geographic location, ethnicity, and age group. In women, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer globally, while in men, prostate cancer ranks highest in terms of incidence. Additionally, lung cancer is the most common cancer in terms of both incidence and mortality worldwide.
The median age for a diagnosis of lung cancer is 72, according to the most recent statistics collected between 2004 and 2008. From 1975 to 1999 the median age for a diagnosis of lung cancer was 66.
Men over 50 smokers
The youngest person to be diagnosed with lung cancer so far is 18. This does not mean someone can not get lung cancer at a younger age.
It can happen at any age
For men, prostate cancer, for women, breast cancer. But cancer at that age is fairly uncommon. Beginning at the age of about 25, the risk for cancer doubles about every 5 years. 77% of cancers occur after age 55. Extrapolating backwards from those two statistics, the chance of cancer before age 35 is a little less than 1%.
Lung Cancer can affect any age any time any place
