Realistically, probably not. It is possible that WW2 could have been, though, had the terms of the Treaty of Versailles been somewhat more reasonable. The insistence on extremely punitive terms for Germany more or less ensured that there would be a second war.
If the Holocaust had never happened, the world would be a different place. The world may have been better, with less discrimination.
Roosevelt's internationalist policy may not have prevented the war. Earlier U.S. involvement may, however, have made the war shorter and less destructive.

American Slaves were never given protections under the law so there was really never a "less violent" time. They were looked on as property so the level of violence depended on the attitude of the individual owners toward their slaves.
On the Beaufort Scales the definition of one less than a hurricane is a violent storm.
They are in no way 'less violent'. They may seem it because tornadoes traval faster than a hurricane but, hurricanes last much longer and take more lives than a tornado does.
