I stopped insulting Brambleclaw when he proved himself loyal to Firestar by killing his own half-brother Hawkfrost, instead of following his ambition like Hawkfrost and Tigerstar. He knew he could be the deputy of ThunderClan without his father's shadow whispering unlikely thoughts into his ear.

Ashfur distrusts Brambleclaw because after Brambleclaw and Squirrleflight fought Squirrleflight beagan to like ashfur. then after the badger attack Squirrleflight and Brambleclaw grew close again. Leafpool had a vision of two pairs of paw prints on the lake growing into to one path and at the end of the path was Brambleclaw and Squirrleflight. So Squirrleflight told Ashfur that she and Brambleclaw were meant to be mates from StarClan and he still didnt like the idea
