In sealed container 1, put water a bowl of water and a mouse. In sealed container 2, put a plant and a mouse. In sealed container 3, put only a mouse, as a control experiment. See which mouse takes longer to asphyxiate (suffocate). An experiment similar to this was done hundreds of years ago for the very purpose of discovering that plants produce oxygen.
If you have more time and you want to be more humane, you could use iron in place of the mouse, and see which iron has more rust after a certain period of time.
The easiest way is to use an aquatic plant (one that grows underwater). In sunlight this will release bubbles - collect the bubbles in an upturned (water filled) jar placed over the plant. Once you have collected the gas use the oxygen test (relight a smoldering taper) on the gas to see if it is oxygen.
Bubble measurement is a test which can prove that pond weed produces oxygen gas. Pond weed releases oxygen and takes in carbon dioxide during the process of photosynthesis. The experimenter will find the outward-moving bubbles containing oxygen with which to oxygenate the plant in question's surrounding water.
Oxygen Production.
Well, Oxygen is in the air. You can prove that it is because we would all be dead. We breathe Oxygen. Answer - You can prove that Oxygen is in the air because without it we would die, and if you didn't already know, we are breathing it right now. Hoped This Helps :/ -Sara-

place 2-3 plants with dense leaves in a closed glass chamber with a lighted candle. the candle will light longer than wothout plants
plants produce oxygen
That statement is not true. Depending on the plant in which you are talking about of course. Spinach is a plant and contains massive amounts of essential vitamins, without which you would get sick and in the case of complete lack of vitamins die. Plant matter also provides fiber which is important for digestive health. Not to mention the numerous benefits of fruit (which you could argue is not the plant itself, but comes from a plant.). You can do a quick experiment to prove the above statement is not true: find a Vegan and see how long they live.
In 1770, Joseph Priestly conducted experiment to discover one of the products of photosynthesis. He first put a mouse into a bell jar and left it, it died. He then put a burning candle into the bell jar and it burnt out. After that, he placed a plant into the bell jar with another mouse, it survived! And, then he placed a candle in with the plant, it didn't burn out! So using our knowledge of respiration and combustion we know that you need oxygen to burn and oxygen to respire.
By the measurement of the nitrogen and oxygen levels in it.
