The constitution of the state of Nevada was written in July of 1864. The people in the Nevada territory approved it by vote on September 1, 1864. President Abraham Lincoln officially admitted Nevada to the Union on October 31, 1864.
Two states, West Virginia and Nevada, were admitted to the Union during the Presidency of Abraham Lincoln.
