He didn't. It took him ten years to conquer, and then he died. His generals succeeded him, and split the empire up into kingdoms of their own.

Alexander did several things to keep his empire united when he was alive. One thing that he did was he used his armies to control the cities under his rule.
He had Greeks and Persians marry.
Yes
Alexander The Great
While Alexander's personality certainly helped the Macedonian Empire to emerge, the background work was first done by his father (Phillip). Phillip unified Macedonia into a kingdom after his brother's death & subsequent collapse of the country using both military and diplomatic means, defeating the Paionians, Athenians, Thracians and Potiaea before marrying Olympias, Alexander's mother. Through these means Alexander was able to inherit a ready-made kingdom. When Phillip was assassinated in 336 BC Alexander took the throne and inherited a strong kingdom with an experienced army and a ready-made plan for invading Persia and freeing the Ionian states. This, along with his arrogent and ambitious personality (encouraged by both parents), combined with his excellent skills as a General (Leonidas tutored him as a child, as did Aristotle), was what led to the contribution of the Great Empire of Alexander. It is feasable that were Alexander not the man he had been, he could have managed to keep the Macedonian Empire as strong as Phillip left it however had Alexander been different he may not have succeeded his father at all.

according to several customer reviews, Split running shorts are great for an avid runner because they can keep you cool and are very light. They are light and well made and will keep you feeling great when running in them.
This tactic was successful because it helped Alexander's empire by raising the amount of people in his empire, this was because they wanted to keep their beliefs and they wouldn't rebel because of this. *Quote this on Chase Burnham*
The end of the Persian Empire, for a start, although whether that was a bad thing or not is debatable. And... The warring factions that arose after his death. His empire was torn into pieces and fought over. Much better to have let the Persians keep it, I think.
