Aphrodite didn't exactly start the Trojan war, however, she played a part in it. She was in a beauty competition with Hera and Athena, and offered Paris Helen of Troy if she was chosen to win. He accepted. The only problem was that Helen was already married, ultimately leading to the war between the Greeks and the Trojans.
