Killing is the word which most of the civilized human beings would like to omit from their minds and dictionaries. But in the case mentioned, the Nazi regime was so much obsessed by the idea that the Aryan race was being contaminated by the Jewish blood that they took it as their duty to take to eradication of the Jew from the country and the other parts of the world. It was a fanatic belief and they had been so much brainwashed by the fiery rhetoric of Hitler that they believed that by killing the Jews they were indulging in an act which was at least philanthropic in the contemporary German society.

They must have felt highly jubilant after each killing, thus adding to the dark and lamentable catalog of deplorable part of human history.

Very, very few expressed and feelings of guilt. Some of the perpetrators were tried and punished, but many others changed their names and/or got themselves denazified - and 'lived happily ever after'.

The sudden emergence of the Cold War soon after the end of World War 2 tended to work against dealing with the perpetrators properly after about 1949.

Many felt guilty because they didn't know why they survived, and others didn't. Many had PTSD from the horrible experiences that they went through. Most tried to rebuild their lives and look to the future, especially the ones lucky enough to make it to Israel. Some people tried to forget their suffering. Many people documented their experience. While many say "Never Again" the truth is that atrocites like this did happen post 1945 and unfortunatly will probably continue to happen.

Many Nazi Party members did not share Adolf Hitler's anti-Jewish views. So there were some who probably did feel bad, and others who may not have.
