The gospels say that he was a scribe ("lawyer") and a Pharisee, but the man is not identified by name.
Matthew 22:34-36 - But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?"
Mark 12:28 - Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, "Which is the first commandment of all?"

Mat 22:35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying,
Mat 22:36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?"
In verse 34 they refers to the Sadducees, and one of them in verse 35 refers to one of the Sadducees ( a lawyer).
This is all we know about this man he was a lawyer and a Sadducee
