Jesus, being the Son of God, had and still has Divine power and authority as a full person in the Godhead (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) to stop people from controlling Him. In one instance in His hometown, after a speech he gave in the local synagogue of Nazareth, he stirred up the people to where they drove him out of town in order to throw him off a cliff, but He walked right through the crowd and "went on his way." (Luke 4:14-30)
At another time, the people wanted to make Jesus be the King of Israel then and there and He resisted.
There are more occasions where people tried to control Jesus and He resisted. Sometimes He resisted by speaking something that would stop them or by some miraculous act.
Possibly, and most likely, the only time Jesus allowed people to control Him was on the event of His arrest in the garden, trial before the religious leaders, trial before Pilate and Herod, the whipping, all the other abuse from the Roman soldiers, His march to Golgotha with the cross, His being nailed to the cross, His suffering and death. But all this was allowed for our salvation from sin and eternal death. God quickly took control of the situation three days later by raising Jesus from the dead.
It is not stated why, but most likely it was so Jesus could continue His work unhindered. As it was, Christ was followed by great crowds who pressed around Him.
fear of being around crowds
Agoraphobia literally means "fear of crowds" but being irritated by them doesn't necessarily have a name--though I would assume it has some relation to agoraphobia.
I personally could find no record of the crowds reaction to Jesus' baptism in the four Gospels. It is stated however in at least three of the Gospels that the Heavens opened up when he was baptized so one could safely assume that the surrounding crowd of people were fairly amazed to say the least.
The variable being tested is controlled.
Claustrophobia is the fear of tight spaces. Agoraphobia is the fear of being in crowds. The root word agora actually comes from the Greek for "market place."
it is being shot when you see it
The independent variable.
Controlled
In an earthquake, you should avoid being inside of a building. You should also avoid being around anything that could fall and hurt you.
Well, agoraphobic is when you are afraid of being in public, open places and crowds.
If in doubt - do not taste - is the best way to avoid being poisoned.
