Well, Jesus is actually the Son of God. God had a virgin become pregnant by the Holy Spirit (which only God can do) and the virgin gave birth to Jesus Christ. So, Jesus got the message, because He is the Son of God.

Answer: As far as is recorded, Jesus had no moment of revelation. He knew who he was from birth.
He did not found Christianity, or any other religion, though. Followers did, quite some later.
