Actually right after Antony was defeated, Cleopatra was afraid of his anger due to his defeats, and so she sent him a false letter saying she killed herself. Thinking this was true, Antony killed himself. Now because of THIS, Cleopatra felt awful and stuck her hand in a basket with a poisonous snake in it on purpose and.... yeah.
