Gandhi was born a Hindu and like most young boys from all religions across the World, he learnt the virtues of honesty and peace, just like all religions preach them.

The only thing Gandhi did which not many of his contemprories or next generations were able to do is he practiced what he learnt.

Thus yes, religion did influence Gandhi, but two caveats, he chose what he wanted to be influenced with and he chose to act on what he learnt from religion

he wanted that we all should live with peace without hurting anyone, he didnt gave attention to the religion of diffrent ppl cuz he wanted to show that to whatever land or religion we belong we all our human beings and should share love!
