How did Marie Antoinette and Louis the 16th die?
Both Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were guillotined.
Marie Antoinette was beheaded by the French peasants of the time because they believed that she along with her husband, King Louis XVI deserved to die after the years of oppression and being poor. They may have especially liked to kill Marie Antoinette because of the obscene amount of money she spent on her wardrobe and jewelry, thus the nickname "Madam Deficit."
Marie-Antoinette, wife and Queen of Louis XVI, was executed by guillotine on the grounds that she had committed treason by corresponding with her relative who ruled Austria, a country at war with France. She was also accused of a number of other crimes, from wasting the national treasure (which was partly true) to quite ridiculous items like incest with her son.
Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette both died in 1793 (Louis on Januari 21st and Marie Antoinette on October 16th) on the scaffold. King Louis XVI and his wife Queen Marie Antoinette lost their monarchical power during the French Revolution. They inherited an enormous state debt (by Louis XIV and Louis XV).
