There are Greek and Roman myths and legends. Have you ever heard of Hercuels, Medusa, Jupiter, Zeus.
Roman society is said to have been influenced by two cultures, the Greeks and the Etruscans. The Etruscans more than likely influenced Roman society and Roman culture more heavily because Rome was surrounde4d by Etruscan territory and was ruled by Etruscan kings. The Greek influence came about as a result of Roman expansion.
The Greco-Roman came about as a result of embracing the Greeks and the Romans as their masters and therefore adapting some of their cultures and practices. After a long period of coexistence, the regions that were under the governments of Greek and Roman empires embraced their practices and culture, forming a hybrid of Greek-Roman culture.
The Renaissance was the period in history most influence by classic Greek and Roman works. After the fall of Constantinople, many Greek and Roman scholars fled to Italy and Western Europe, prompting a new surge of interest in ancient literature and a desire to reproduce their culture.
The influence of the greek culture faded , after Alexanders kingdom was divided into three areas, and later on the roman culture also made its way.
The three ancient civilisations that most profoundly influenced modern Western culture would probably be Rome, which gave us its empire; Greece, which gave us its philosophy and ideals; and Judea, which gave us Christianity.

The Arabs read the scrolls in the library in Alexandria and became very interested in Greek science and mathematics, which helped them with the scientific advances they made in their age of splendour, which was at the time of the European Middle Ages.
