Currency did not exist in Mesopotamia. Instead, the economy relied on a barter system where goods and services were exchanged directly without the use of money.
Mesopotamia existed in "The Fertile Crescent." Now consisting of Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, and the Northwest corner of Egypt, between the Mediterranean Sea, Persian Gulf, and the Red Sea.
You can't visit Mesopotamia - unless you know how to time travel. Mesopotamia is the historic land which is presently known as Iraq. Babylon, from Mesopotamia, no longer exists, but Baghdad, Iraq does. It can be visited by U.S. military and diplomatic personnel, as well as by various military contractors. Tourism does not exist, at present, in Iraq.
It's a mystery they settled in Mesopotamia though.
If the cradle of civilization, Mesopotamia, did not exist then it would mean that there wouldn't be laws, governments, rules, trade and merchandise. Basically, it would erase 'civilization' out of existence which means that we all would of been savage or barbaric people killing each other for food and shelter. It also would mean Egypt and all the other civilizations that have been made after Mesopotamia would of never existed too. Mesopotamia is the first civilization in ancient history therefore it is crucial for the world.
