In 1984 his hair caught on fire during the shooting of a Pepsi commercial by some pyrotechnics going off too soon. He was left with 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his head, most of his hair did grow back but not all and he was left with a bald spot. So he had a weave sewn into his natural hair.
