At an early age, Ryan was determined to pursue a career in entertainment. Her enthusiasm and natural talent caught the attention of casting directors. With a number of national print ads under her belt, Ryan booked the first commercial she ever auditioned for, an experience that proved Ryan's passion for acting was not without considerable talent and drive. At the shoot, the directors found themselves without the Spanish-language counterpart to Ryan's English-language role. Urgently needing to film the commercial in both languages, production asked young Ryan if she could speak Spanish, to which she replied, "If you teach me!" Ryan made her feature film debut at the age of seven in the films "Zoom" and "Monster House".
