As a child, TR was simply a weakling. His parents, finally tired of having to baby him, told him he would simply have to work to overcome his Asthma. TR was delighted with the challenge, "I will make my body." This led him to a regimen of physical activity that changed his philosophy on life. As he overcame his weakness, he saw that the demands of the "strenuous life" had helped shape him into a better person. It was a philosophy that carried him to the White House and that he was not shy about sharing with the rest of the world.
