Three in all, although technically he only tried two times, but when he let thew dog pack loose, it killed her and since he was still stalking for revenge on her, then I think that counts too.
He was trying to kill her still but he hated Fireheart more then and so he tried to destroy ThunderClan. =( He also killed Runningwind, Brindleface, he ment to kill Bluestar at the narrow turn on the thunderpath but Cinderpaw got her leg crippled. He hurt so many cats...And THEN!he goes and takes over ShadowClan and makes Leopardstar let him rule RiverClan as well and then he tries to kill Featherpaw and Stormpaw but Stonefur fights Blackfoot and Blackfoot kills him and then the two apprentices are saved and yadayadayada... But basically Tigerstar killed for fun! He LOVED Bluestar and then he fell in love with Goldenflower and then he was exiled and fell for Sasha and all that crap! HE IS WROSE THAN SCOURGE!!!!!!! (The reason I say that is because Scourge was a runt, his brother and sister HATED him his mother thought he was a liar AND named him TINY!!!!!!) So i basically can't blame Scourge for his past all he wanted was to be wanted and loved by his own family!!!! OH DID I MENTION HE WAS A KITTYPET? But oh well... Soooooooo ya Tigerstar had a crappy life to he wasn't wanted by his dad, he was named by Bluefur/star..., he Loved Bluefur/star and wanted her to be happy because she lost her sister,her kits, her love of her life, her deputies her mother, her father, AND her sister!!!!!!!!!!!! =,( OK NOW IM DONE...

Tigerstar attempted to kill Firestar by luring him into a trap at Fourtrees, where he planned to have a pack of dogs attack him. Tigerstar hoped to eliminate Firestar as a threat to his power and dominance in the forest. However, Firestar was able to outsmart Tigerstar and escape the attack with the help of some ThunderClan warriors.

∙ 12y agoIn the Forest Of Secrets, during the floods, Bluestar made Tigerclaw, Longtail, and Fireheart go on a patrol to find a passageway to the Gathering. Tigerclaw makes Fireheart walk across a weak limb in the river in which he was trying to drown him. Once Fireheart fell both of the others took a different limb but Longtail saved him from drowning. Go Longtail!
In Rising Storm Tigerstar and a pack of rogues attack Fireheart. The rogues were lead by Tigerstar but Graystripe and a Riverclan patrol saved Fireheart.
In A Dangerous Path Tigerstar pins Fireheart down as the pack of dogs were chasing after him. Once the dogs were maybe a fox-length away Tigerstar jumped away retreating up a tree. Tigerstar already knew about the dogs so he didn't retreat with fear he just retreated for protection. Fireheart was being ripped to shreds but before the dogs got enough damage inflicted of Fireheart (da da da da daaaaaa)(Bluestar to the rescue!)Bluestar jumps outta no where pouncing on the pack leader pushing the dog over the cliff and Bluestar going down with him. Of course the dumb little followers jumped of the cliff after the leader! Omg how retarted can dogs get! But Fireheart jumps in after her yada yada yada and almost drowns until Mistyfoot and Stone fur jumps in and saves 'em both. Bluestar dies in front of the three yada yada yada and then a loud "NO!" Tigerstar appears outta no where and attacks Fireheart while he is sitting there greiving over Bluestar. Of course he was saying no because he ment for Fireheart to die. Boy was he mad. But before he could attack him(da da da da daaaaa)(yeah its the music)Graystripe jumps at Tigerstar and pins him down until Firestar tells himt to release him. Tigerstar runs off yada yada yada they don't live happily ever after.

Hawkfrost's Reason: Soon after the Badger attack, After Tigerstar's plan for Brambleclaw to rule Thunderclan and Windclan, and Hawkfrost to rule Riverclan and Shadowclan, Hawkfrost tries to help Brambleclaw. Hawkfrost suggests Brambleclaw should manipulate Firestar, make a great impression on him (Firestar), and make friends with Daisy's kits so he can have an apprentice. Hawkfrost tells Shadowclan about the badger attack in Thunderclan, and Shadowclan attacks Thunderclan, But is defeated. After Brambleclaw is made deputy, Hawkfrost tells Brambleclaw to meet him in 2 days at sunrise, near the Shadowclan border. Before they meet, Hawkfrost lured Firestar into a fox trap, so that Brambleclaw could finish him off easily and become leader. But instead, Brambleclaw saves Firestar and kills Hawkfrost.
Ashfur's reason: He helped lure Firestar into the trap. He wanted Firestar to die so Squirrelflight could feel as much pain as he did when she rejected him for Brambleclaw.

For her story plot to go as she planned, yes. Erin Hunter had to kill Silverstream so that she and Graystripe's kits would be with RiverClan when Tigerstar became the joint leader of RiverClan with Leopardstar. Then Tigerstar, in his quest for pure-blood cats, could try to make Stonefur kill them and if Silverstream were still alive, she would protect her kits and she wouldn't let Tigerstar try to kill them. If Tigerstar wouldn't have tried to kill the kits, then Graystripe, Ravenpaw, and Firestar wouldn't have rescued the kits, and the plot of the story would fall apart. So, yes. Erin Hunter did have to kill Silverstream.
