Spain was an oppresive Colonial Power and thousands of Cubans and Filipinos did die in the reconcentration camps used to quell rebellions. Hearst and Pulitzer both stretched the Truth in their reporting. Had they done so in the interest of a better and brighter tomorrow for the world, forgiveness might be warranted. Both did it to increase circulation of their papers. They did it for profit and that denies them forgiveness in History.
