It depends on what is meant by a victim in this case. People can be considered a victim in any situation whether they are kidnapped or killed, and many people during World War I were killed, while some were also captured, and became prisoners of war.

The children were treated very badly just manly the Jews .When they were caught hiding they were either killed or beaten or put in the concentration camps.

Some of the soldiers had to eat and sleep outside during the winter months. And also if they were injured they had surgery on the battlefield...
