How did alijah and moses go to heaven before jesus paid the penalty for sin March 28 33 ad?

Elijah never went to Heaven we was tooken up in the chariot of fire to the heavens(skys). Moses however was never said to have went to Heaven. So neither one of then went to Heaven before Jesus paid the penalty of sin.
"And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, the Son of man which is in heaven" -John 3:13
Obviously they didn't ascend into heaven then.
