The antisemitism all over the world especially in Europe make the Jews united in the idea of Zionism ( create a nation ), it made them think that there is no place where they can be safe and live in peace, we can say that the Holocaust and the situation of the Jews in Arab states in the 20 century was "the last straw" for the Jews .

Answer 1

Anti-Semitism is the hatred toward Jews. Millions of Jews died as a result of World War II and Israel was created as a sort of a save haven for Jews in Palestine, which is where the origins of Judaism hail from.

Answer 2

The logic for this argument is a little more complicated than what is laid out below and supported by an incredible amount of historical evidence. It goes as follows.

  1. Jews have historically lived in a number of countries.
  2. Those countries ALWAYS have a segment of the population that is Anti-Semitic. *The only caveats to that rule are India and China, but the Jewish communities in those countries were so small that they did not endure into the modern age for the most part.
  3. Legislation gets enacted (or if already enacted actually followed) that results in Jews being stripped of business licenses and professional discourtesy on the light end and pogroms and mass extermination on the other.
  4. Surprisingly, this happens just as often in countries that have long policies of Jewish toleration (such as Third Republic France, post-Weimar Germany, and Islamic Spain under the Almohads) as countries which had has long periods of Jewish intolerance (such as Tsarist Russia and Yugoslav Croatia).
  5. Jews realized that Anti-Semitism is an endemic part of non-Jewish civilization and that Jews would be (almost) eternally at risk for such mistreatment. Furthermore, in the latter period Anti-Semitism became racial as well as religious which meant that a Jew could not escape his Judaism (even if he wanted to).
  6. If Anti-Semitism is unavoidable, the only way for the Jew to avoid the fear that his government may make it impossible or intolerable to be a Jew is for the Jew to govern himself in his own State.
  7. Voila, the Judenstaat (Israel).
