There were several ways in which the conflict between Great Britain and Spain affected the borders of the US. First, when the conflict began the British troops were sent from the US borders to fight. This allowed the United States to take control of more land. Second, the goods that were being shipped from Britain and Spain to the US were no longer arriving. This caused the Americans to learn to provide for these needs on their own and created more industrialization within the colonies.
