Because it has been established that the main cause of lung-cancer is though the chemicals found in tobacco smoke. Unless a person has a history of cancer in their family, the onlyway to get the disease is by exposure to tobacco smoke ! If they are a non-smoker - they must have got it though inhaling smoke.
