First, the egyptians removed internal organs, such as the heart, lungs, things like that. Then, they would coat the body in epsom salt. After 70 days, they would wrap the mummy in the cloth, and put them in their tombs, as their final resting place.
First, purify the body by washing it with water. Make an incision on the left side of the body, below the heart. Remove the liver, lungs, intestines, and stomach. Leave the heart intact, as the deceased will require the heart to travel to the spirit world. Put each of the 4 organs you have removed into its own canopic jar. Insert the hooked tool into the deceased's nostril and pull the brain out through the nose. The brain can be discarded. Liberally cover the body in natron (a natural salt, composed of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate with traces of sodium chloride and sodium sulfate). The natron will dehydrate the body and allow the blood to drain from it. Allow the body to drain for 40 days. When the body is fully dehydrated, wrap natron-soaked gauze or bandages around it. Make sure to cover the body completely from head to toe. Decorate the mummy with an appropriate designs or mask that fits the social station the deceased had in life
Here are the steps:
.) Transfer the body to the ibu on the west side on the Nile River
.) Wash the body with natron salt and water
.) Bring the body into the wabet, a mud brick building
.) Take out brains with a hook
.) Fill the skull with sawdust
.) Cut the left side of the body
.) Place organs on a table
.) Treat organs with natron salt
.) Put organs in canopic jars (lungs; baboon, liver; human, intestines; falcon, stomach; jackal)
.) Clean the body with palm wine and spices
.) Put straw or dried grass on top stomach area to help it dry and keep it's shape
.) Put the body on a sloping table
.) Cover body with natron salt
.) Let it dry for 40 days
.) Seal the cut with wax or resin
.) Place the Two Finger Amulet on the body for protection
.) Cover body with resin
.) Wrap body with 375m2 of linen fabric
.) Place mummy mask on the face
.) Put the mummy in a sarcophagus
.) Bring it to it's final resting place in a pyramid
they removed their internal organs, except for the heart and they use salt-like substances to remove moisture from the body. After that, they were wrapped with strips of white linen and a protective sheet of canvas.
The first step in this technique involved the removal and preservation of most of the internal organs. They would then remove the heart and the brain and wrap up the corpse.
