Because poison gas was used against soldiers in the trenches in WWI, gas attack was feared in WWII. Poison gas was rarely used in WWII, except in the German death camps, where 11 million people (including 6 million Jews) were gassed to death. Poison gas in not an effective weapon in combat, if it rains the rain can disperse it, and the wind can blow it back at the side that's using it.
Gas masks are used to protect people especially soldiers when gases are used in warfare or domestic disturbances. They were used in World War I to protect soldiers against mustard gas.
The Germans on the Western Front
Some countries were afraid of gas attacks being used against them, so masks that could protect the people were manufactured and spread.
You don't put gas into gas masks. They are used to keep out poisonous gases.
They were called Gas Masks
Trenches were used for hidding them selfs and to take cover from people on the opposite side , also could help by giving the soldies 30 seconds to get there gas masks when a gas attak hits them.
They wore gas masks because it fit in with the theme of the video.
The reason they wore gas masks is because they weren't sure weather the Nazi's would drop gas bombs as they did in WW1
to make sure that they diddnt get poisond by poisenis bombs the Germans dropped
so people didn't get poisoned by bad gas in gas bombs.
