Creationism (aka creation "science" aka intelligent design) is a hypothesis which basically posits that God created the universe, the world and all its contents, as accounted in the book of Genesis. I would add that not everyone who believes in Creation by God holds that it happened just as told in Genesis. This broader view also recognizes a Divine Creator, but does not require the specific story of Genesis.
The narrative is in the first passages in the Book of Genesis. See also:Is there evidence for Creation? Can you show that God exists?Seeing God's wisdom

The six days of creation story in Genesis serves to illustrate the power and creativity of God in bringing forth the world and all living things. It establishes the order and purpose of creation and emphasizes the importance of rest on the seventh day, known as the Sabbath. It also sets the foundation for understanding humanity's role as stewards of God's creation.
In the Bible, the creation story can be found in the Book of Genesis, specifically in chapters 1 and 2. It describes how God created the world, including the heavens, the earth, plants, animals, and humans, in six days before resting on the seventh day. This story is foundational to the Judeo-Christian understanding of the origin of the universe.
In Genesis 1:26, the God Family (Father and Son) "make man in Our image, according to Our likeness,..."In Genesis 1:21, it speaks of how the God Family makes all according to their 'KIND.' The human 'kind' is made in God's own image and likeness unlike all others in Creation.
Biblical writers emphasize humanity’s role as caretakers of creation through passages like Genesis 1:26-28, where God grants humans dominion over the earth and its creatures, highlighting stewardship rather than exploitation. Additionally, the call to cultivate and keep the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:15) reflects a responsibility to nurture and protect the environment. Throughout Scripture, themes of stewardship, respect for nature, and the interconnectedness of all living things reinforce the idea that caring for creation is a divine mandate.
This is to show that Jesus Christ, the subject of the Gospel is the eternal word of God. Jesus is thus not a created being or a mere man but the almighty creator.

The first things described as good are, in this order: Light*The separation of continents and oceansThe creation of plants.(The light was not the same as that of the sun. Rather, it was light that God created before the sun, and which emanated from a point in space without any physical source; like what we might term a "white hole.")See also:Is there evidence for Creation? Can you show that God exists?Seeing God's wisdom
