The tree itself was not evil. It was that the fruit contained god's knowledge and wisdom and the evil was in people who chose to disregard gods only commandment and eat from it and then lie to god about it.

What tree in Eden was the forbidden tree?

According to Genesis 2: 17 the only thing that was required by God was not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and bad. By not eating from the tree, the first couple would have shown their obedience to the One who gave them life. It would also have shown that they recognized God's right to direct their ways. Jehovah gave Adam and Eve another command, which included a clear statement of the penalty if violated: " As for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die. One scholar observes: " The inference of God's commands in Genesis 2: 16,17 is that only God knows what is not good... for them. To enjoy the good,' humankind must trust God and obey him. If they disobey, they will be left to decide for themselves what is good.... and what is not good." That is a burden that humans could not carry successfully on their own. We have to admit that we do not always know what the outcome of our choices will be; nor do we know whether they will turn out for our good every time. That is why we so often see people make choices or decisions with all good intentions--only to have them result in suffering, disaster, or tragedy. Read Proverbs 14: 12. Human limitations play a large role. Today our world is in turmoil and Jeremiah who was a prophet came to this conclusion in Jeremiah 10: 23. " It does not belong to man/woman who is walking even to direct his step. And Jesus expressed the same idea in Matthew 4: 4 in these words. "Man must live, not on bread alone, but on every word that comes from Jehovah's mouth. Romans 5: 12 reads: " Just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because they had all sinned. The meaning of the word sin is ( Missed the goal ) The goal that mankind has missed is the priviledge to remain connected to the One who has the power to give life and make us live forever. Genesis chapter 3 is mankind's history. Adam knew that if he did not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and bad he would not die. That command would have made no sense if Adam was meant to grow old and die anyway. God's plan for mankind today is our reconcilation with Him, who has our best interest. Read John 17: 3; 1 Timothy 2: 4,5. Our future lies in the hands of the One who created mankind and our choice to live up to His requirements will set our future outcome. Adam and Eve had that choice, so do we. Psalm 37: 29 reminds us that the righteous will possess the earth and they will live forever on it, which has always been God's purpose and has not changed, but only postponed. The Bible teaches that God's kingdom will undo all the harm that millenniums of human rule have done. Read Daniel 2: 44 ; Matthew 6: 9,10

What is the tree of knowledge of good and evil?

This tree is from the Bible in Genesis and this tree was in the Garden of Eden, where Adam and Eve lived. God told them that if they ate the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they will surely die. Since they ate the fruit from that tree, they knew what was good and bad and disobeyed God. In my opinion and reading in the Bible The tree of the Knowlegde of good and evil represented an individual a person someone that was alive i will try to explain for example take the word knowledge it is something that you gain through understanding observing experiencing studying it is acheived by someone who is alive and has a mind' a tree does not have a mind and cannot comunicate so there for how could a tree gain knowledge (also this tree was not from The Almighty Creator because God is not evil;evil came from that devil satan) there are scriptures in the bible that explain God is a knowledgeable God. humans can attain knowledge animals do to in there unigue way all are living beings and creatures capable and able to communicate with one another. So the tree in the garden represented some family type unit or a group of beings meaning angel like creatures that had a plan and were knowledgeable. Remember Eve it doesnt seem like eve was shocked talking to a serpent or snake because it wasnt an animal.
