The question is somewhat vague; and could be answered from various angles of approach. God revealed himself to mankind in many ways and through various means.
In the Garden of Eden God revealed himself to his first human creation by:
1) communication with him. Initially it was very likely by introducing Himself to Adam, as his Maker. Then God informed Adam of his purpose for him (and thus by extension, God's purpose for mankind.)(Genesis Chapter 1) God informed him about 'not eating from a certain tree', out of respect for God's right to make decisions of right & wrong. (Genesis chapter 2) When Adam disobeyed, God revealed himself again 'at the breezy part of the day', as a Judge; (Genesis chapter 3); and then as a Prophet. (Gen 3:15)
2) Thru ought The Bible God revealed himself by various means of communication: ie visions, dreams, through angel messengers; and then of course through his Son. God also revealed himself by 'destructions' (ie the Flood of Noah's day, etc)
3) God also revealed himself by revealing to mankind his personal name. Often it says: "I am Jehovah, that is my name." God revealed his personal name approx 7,000 times in the 'Old Testament' alone. That's more times than all the 'titles' - combined. This allows mankind to have a very personal relationship with Him.
4) God also revealed himself, by revealing to mankind his righteous requirements. Mankind would really learn much about God's character and personality. There are many laws given through Moses. Other commands were delivered through his Prophets. Then Christ Jesus and his disciples delivered more commands which would reveal more things about God.
Many more things can be added.
Many Gnostics saw the God of the Old Testament as an angry and capricious god, who demanded sacrifices, encouraged genocide and was vain, in that he demanded constant worship. They could not imagine that the God of the Old Testament could be the same god as the loving god of the New Testament. Because they could not see the Old Testament God and the New Testament God to be the same, they decided that the Old Testament God was a lesser god, who was not even aware of the New Testament God in the higher heavens. Thus, he believed himself to be the only God and the Lord of creation, but there was (in Gnostic view) a higher God. To many, it was not so much that the Old Testament God was evil, it was that he was wholly ignorant.
Neither. God was already in existence. The bible are stories written by individuals who wrote about their or someone else's experience with God and Jesus Christ. the bible simply gives us God's instructions on how to live (found in the old testament), and then gives us hope for something better to come (Jesus, found in the new testament).
The Old Testament laid the foundation for the coming of Jesus Christ in the New Testament. The New Testament fulfills the prophecies and promises made in the Old Testament, showing how they are interconnected and part of the overarching narrative of God's plan for humanity. Jesus himself often referenced the Old Testament scriptures to demonstrate how they foretold his arrival and mission.

The difference of the sons of god , in the two testaments are that in the old testament Jesus is the son of god. But in the New Testament we to can be the sons of god . If only we do believe that Jesus died for our sins.
This is not an entirely accurate statement of the Gnostic Christian belief about the nature of God. They could not believe that the harsh and unjust God of the Old Testament was the same as the loving and forgiving God of the New Testament, so they believed there must be two gods. The God of the Old Testament became the Demiurge, while the supreme God is the God of the New Testament. Thus, God of the New Testament is good and the Demiurge, the God of the Old Testament, is the bad God.
Roman Catholic AnswerYes, we believe that God revealed Himself all throughout the Old Testament, and that His ultimate revelation was that of Himself in His Son, Our Blessed Lord, who is God's complete revelation of Himself - no more are to be expected.
no
One purpose of Old Testament prophecy was to foretell the arrival of the Messiah or Redeemer. A second purpose was to show the rewards for those who obeyed God's laws. At the same time, it was to show the punishments of the disobedient.
Yes, polygamy was practiced in the Old Testament by some individuals, but it is not explicitly condoned or endorsed by God.
