The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God that calls us through the Gospel in order that we might believe that Jesus Christ is Lord. The Holy Spirit keeps those who believe in Him, united with Jesus Christ in the one true faith. God sent His Holy Spirit to make Himself known to the whole world - that is, everyone! The Spirit calls people to tell them that we are God's children and He helps us to believe that God's Word is true.
Christians believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity. God the Father, and God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. This would make the Holy Spirit a He. Through out Scripture the attributes of God and a real person are attributed to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a He and not an it.
As they make the sign of the cross (as he blesses himself) he says: "In the name of the Father, the son and the Holy Spirit, amen."

A:Christians do talk of persons having the Holy Spirit "with you" as well as "in you". Whatever this means, the Holy Spirit seems to make no outward sign of his presence, so this is just a matter of faith.
The Holy Spirit
At Baptism, the time when you make a public stand for your faith in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit indwells you. Baptism isn't just a rite with water - it is the reception of the Holy Spirit. When you receive Christ you also receive his Spirit in your heart.
Through Christ himself, who then passed it on to his disciples saying, "Go and make disciples of every nation, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit."

The power of the Holy Spirit is infinite. He has the power to create and to destroy. Together, the Spirit, the Father and Christ make up what we call God. They are equally powerful and equally God.
The true church is the Bride and body of Christ and has been indwelt by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has given the "Fruit of the Spirit" to Jesus' followers, which make them to be like Jesus
