Billie Joe and Mike started a band called Sweet Children when they were in high school and they got John Kiffmeyer as a drummer. They did their first gig at Billie Joes mums workplace. I can't remember why, but Tre Cool was a temporary replacment for the drummer and they've been a frikin awesome band ever since!
