How did guns n' roses start playing?

Slash and Steven were playing in a band called LA Guns, while Axl and Izzy belonged to a band called Hollywood Rose. They joined together, and recruited Duff, from Seattle as a bassist, and changed their name to Guns 'N' Roses.
