Guru Nanak was so important to the Sikh's because he was the first guru, also he was the one who founded Sikhism, they was no Sikhism before he was born. Guru Nanak believes in one god and Sikh's want to follow that too. You should show that you respect Guru Nanak by calling him Guru Nanak Dev Ji.Guru Nak Dev Ji is a rolemodel to Sikh's because he cared about everyone even the untouchables. You shouldn't touch the untouchables according to everyone except Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Once when he was going to school one morning he touched an untouchable, he dad was ashamed of him but Guru Nanak said " Everyone has got a God in them." When he went to school he got in trouble because he didn't want to learn the alphabet he wanted to learn about God and pray to him. His Teacher wasn't having this behavier and he got suspened.

The Guru Granth Sahib is the Sikhism holy book. The tenth Guru; Guru Gobind Singh; decided that there wasn't going to be another living Guru; the guru Granth Sahib would take his place and teach Sikhs the correct way of life. It is treated like another living Guru and all copies are absoluteky identical. Until very recently, all copies were hand written! When carried, it is usually olaced on the head with a cloth and a pillow to show respect for it.
Guru Nanak gave a bunch of people a bar of chocolate containing six slabs to share between 150 people. He then stated "you are all equal, and so is that chocolate. If you are wise enough you will split it equally so you all get a fair amount. You are all the same but different aswell. No one should be selfish nor timid, take your share and it only can be fair." All of the 150 people took their bit of chocolate and ate it. Guru then said " you may still be hungry but that should fill every ones needs".

Guru Nanak (Dev ji) was the core finder of Sikhism he didn't understand the Hindu ways in which he was brought up in. So he decided to follow only one god... He already had broken the rules of having Muslim friends in which his parents weren't happy about. He was expelled from school because he cared more about god and praying to him than learning. He was very spiritual and loved god very much. After a little while people started to see he was different and he eventually became a guru and called guru Nanak he is the founder of Sikhism ...... Hope you like and it's very useful . he Tuck lots of tours and trailed lots
