They did have many diseases, the Bubonic Plague killed many. And the lower classes didn't have much to eat all the time- mostly they ate soups and vegetables. The upper classes could afford meat and ate well.

Schools were founded in the Elizabethan Era, but boys were the only ones who could go to school, and girls had to be tutored at home. Their lives were harsher than ours, for there were wars going on that included England, like Spain and Ireland- I believe.
