During the lonely and rough years after World War 1. The Germans were basically wretched, and their economy had numerous problems, and the unemployment rate rose very high. During this time, Adolf Hiter/ the other parties started to form. Adolf Hitler used nationalism at the absolute highest in his speech to motivate and get the Germans enthusiastic for their country.
It made the countries sing national songs, for Germans 'Duetschland uber alles.' Nationalism just really helped, the people's spirit and emotions rise from this bad time, and it really helped Adolf Hitler motivate and rally more supporters.
