How did people believe Galileo?
It would have helped people to believe him and his observations
Galileo was locked up by the Catholic Church in 1633 for his support of the heliocentric model of the universe, which contradicted the Church's geocentric beliefs. He was charged with heresy for advocating the idea that the Earth revolves around the Sun, which was deemed to be against Church doctrine.

People didnt believeCcopernicus because he had no scientific evidence until after he was dead and Galileo came along later.

People such as Einstein and other modern day scientists and mathematicians
Yes, he was married. He had a family in florence, which i do believe is in Italy today, but there was no such thing as Italy when Galileo was alive.
There was a major conflict with the catholic church. They reportedly did not think the time was right to allow people to believe that the world was not the center of the universe, as was implied by the bible.
Galileo made his telescope in 1609, based on descriptions of instruments made in the Netherlands a year earlier. Despite what a depressingly large number of people would have you believe, he did not invent the telescope (though his was arguably an improvement upon the earlier ones).
