Most animals that became fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) were tiny plankton in the oceans. Coal was made from larger vegetation and possibly animals like archosaurs, the reptile ancestors of the dinosaurs.

Plants and animals become fossil fuels when they die and their remains become fossilized. This is a natural process that typically takes millions of years.

They certainly are. They came from dead plankton, plants and animals like the reptiles that preceded the dinosaurs.

All pre-historic flora and fauna could have contributed to the fossil fuels, but scientists believe that algae and zooplankton contributed the most. See related links.

The original source of energy for plants and animals is sunlight. Plants use the energy of sunlight to make food, by means of a process called photosynthesis, and animals eat those plants.

Where did the fossil fuels get there energy?

Ultimately, all energy only comes from the Sun. This is how the energy is transferred: Sun>plants>animals. Therefore, fossil fuels obtain their energy from plants itself and animals when they've consumed plants.

Energy resources from remains of plants and animals?

fossil fuels

What fossil fuels originally got their energy from?

plants and animals

How do plants and animals store energy found in fossil fuels?

Plants and animals both store energy found in fossil fuels by going threw a system call cell fertilization thru out their life.

What role does the sun play in making fossil fuels?

Fossil fuels wwwwwwwere once living plants and animals. If they were plants they got their energy from the sun, and if they were animals they got their energy from eating plants who got their energy from the sun, or from eating animals who ate animals who ate plants who got their energy from the sun. In other words the sun is the source of all energy. The sun´s energy is stored in living beings, in plants and the animals that eat the plants, and if conditions are right, that energy is then stored in the form of fossil fuels.

How did plants and animals get their energy before coming fossil fuels?

Same way they get energy now. Plants get energy from sunlight via photosynthesis and animals get energy from eating plants and other animals.

What is energy source that is made from the buried remains from plants and animals called?

fossil fuels

Fossil fuels contain energy that originally came from where?

Fossil fuels contain energy that originally came from the sun.

What are fossil fuels from?

well fossil fuels are from the dead remains of plants and animals

Where does the energy fossil fuel come from?

The sun. Fossil fuels are made up of plants and animals that lived in the past and have been converted to fossil fuels by geological processes over time. And as plants convert the suns energy into sugars, fossil fuels are stored solar energy.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The energy comes from the energy that was previously in dead plants/animals... to understand better read about the carboniferous period. It explains how fossil fuels were created, through the compression of decaying plant material that had lots of locked up carbon underneath layers of sediments.

How fuels are used energy source?

Fossil fuels are energy sources that come from the reamins of plants and animals. These remains are millions of years old.

How did the plants and animals get there energy when the fossil fuels were formed?

From the sun mostly, just like now.
